'The Council’s suspension of their proposal to cut teaching time for primary children by 10% is a magnificent victory for parent power in Renfrewshire'
Quote from Stephen Wright

Council Cuts Schools Budgets Again!!
Renfrewshire Council to cut Education again – axing 60 more primary teacher posts and reducing
teaching time from qualified teachers by 10%.

  • Renfrewshire Council have PASSED a proposal to reduce the number of hours  to teach the curriculum from 25 hours per week to 22.5 hours.
  • This is 10 hours a month.
  • Over a 7 year period this amounts a whole year in lost education for our children
  • The additional hours will be taken up with non-curriculum subjects delivered by non-qualified teaching staff.
  • Many parents are opposed to this proposal and see it as detrimental to our children's education. What is your view?

The following is a list of cuts which took place with little or no parent consultation. As a voice of Parents we are campaigning to stop this trend and make the council listen to the views of parents.

2009  - South School Closed

2010 - Cut back on school busses.

2010  -  Teacher cuts
